Paepae o He’eia
In 2001, a small group of young Hawaiians came together to form Paepae o Heʻeia. Their work was centered around the 80-acre traditional Hawaiian fishpond in Heʻeia and involved restoring and caring for this special place. Over the last 10 years, Paepae o Heʻeia has evolved to become a leading center of knowledge and traditional practice for people of all ages from keiki to kūpuna.
This short video shares the history and successes of Paepae o Heʻeia’s first 10 years and was premiered at POH’s annual Hoʻolako Fundraiser. Here are some photos from that great night!
